Amgen Senior Electrical Technician - AML6 Drug Substance in Juncos, Puerto Rico
Under minimal direction, the Sr. Electrician Technician is responsible for providing/performing maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and design of electrical equipment used in manufacturing, utility plants and analytical labs. All work to be completed to assure minimal impact to production while complying with cGMP and Amgen regulations. This role is crucial for Amgen's success and it will be a key contributor in the AML6 Drug Substance facilities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Perform advanced maintenance, installation, operation, and design of electrical equipment in manufacturing facilities and utility plants.
Maintain an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for the equipment/ systems the team is responsible for.
Perform and ensure various "Housekeeping" activities (i.e., keeping work areas clean, cleaning of equipment, etc.) are completed.
May review and ensures that electrical paperwork and work order documentation is completed with accurate information.
Develop and maintain a detailed training for the team in order to develop team's knowledge in the electrical field and other areas of the plant.
All work to be completed in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and Amgen policies.
Maintain an up to date cGMP training book.
Develop, revise, and review SOPs for work related areas.
Evaluate the current maintenance procedures and make changes to optimize the maintenance program.
Advanced troubleshooting and repair or replacement of faulty electrical components and equipment.
Plan and schedule own work activities and coordinate work performed by Amgen staff and contractors with operations staff to minimize impact to production activities
Maintain, interpret and review electrical power distribution drawings, electrical schematics, cable & conduit schedules and panel schedules.
Start-up of new equipment to ensure it meets all electrical design specifications.
Assist with the development and lead in the execution of validation documents for electrical equipment.
May have lead responsibilities within the work team.
Interact constructively with peers/teams.
Collaborate and coordinate with higher level outside resources.
Associate's degree & 4 years of electrical experience within the industry
High school diploma & 6 years of electrical experience within the industry
Education discipline/background in Electrical Engineering.
A highly skilled craftsperson knowledgeable in installation, maintenance, and design of electrical equipment.
Advanced knowledge of Power Distribution Systems, UPS Systems, Variable Speed Drives, Emergency Generators, Motors, Breakers and Motor Control Centers.
Basic understanding of process control systems, including those that are computer based.
Has received training or hands on experience in such specialized subjects as electrical theory, theory of control, analog and/or digital electronics and the operation and maintenance of a wide variety of electrical equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.
Computer literacy (Windows environment: Word, Excel, Power Point).
