SC Department of Public Safety Administrative Specialist II - Greenville in Greenville County, South Carolina

  1. Provides Health Services: a. Demonstrates and maintains expertise in eligibility and enrollment rules and procedures; the needs of the underserved and vulnerable populations; and privacy and security standards. b. Provides education and enrollment assistance for uninsured or underinsured individuals through Medicaid and health insurance marketplace. Assists individuals understand and access Medicaid enrollment options. c. Provides structured patient education and assistance on health coverage prior to the clinical visit, during the clinical visit, and engage in follow-up conversations and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals. d. Provides information and assistance in a fair, accurate, and impartial manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to diverse communities and accessible to individuals with disabilities. e. Accurately provides required reporting to track goal achievement and client satisfaction.
  2. Provides Client Services WIC, PH and IZ: a. Meets, interviews and directs public health clients per program policies. b. Processes information, completes medical record and updates client profile in Client Automated Encounter System (CARES). c. Enters all client information into applicable electronic applications to include CARES, PATS, Private Pay and TBCIS. d. Answers telephone and schedules appointments in CARES, as needed. e. Screens and updates eligibility based on program requirements/guidelines. f. Adheres to Third Party/Private Pay policies when applicable.

Applicant should possess a current driver's license and have reliable transportation; be able to stand for long periods of time; be able to lift 30 pounds. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella and hepatitis B prior to beginning employment. All employees in accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster. Minimum and Additional Requirements:

A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED & 2 years medical/clinical clerical office experience; or an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science/related field &1 year medical/clinical clerical office experience; or a Bachelor's Degree or higher with no medical/clinical clerical office experience. Prefer 2 years experience interacting with the public. Prefer 2 years of basic computer experience. Institutions of higher learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
