We are looking for a highly detailed driven Correlations Specialist to support and work with Sales, Marketing, and Editorial to address their alignment needs for the development and sales of Grades K-12 Science programs. This position directly supports critical sales adoption and open territory sales requirements.

Responsibilities for this role require a working knowledge of science concepts, database technology, standards-mapping tools, and the ability to interpret standards-based criteria accurately. It is essential that the Correlations Specialist abilities include close attention to detail, high degree of multi-tasking, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with people throughout the organization.

What you will be doing…

  • Identifying and interpreting state-specific curriculum requirements to guide the development of product alignments and state standards maps.

  • Hire appropriate vendors to align Pearson products to established criteria and bear the responsibility for ensuring the timely delivery of accurate correlations.

  • Work with other team members to a moderate degree (under the general supervision of the Curriculum Alignment Manager).

  • Engage in the use of the centralized correlation engine to create standards alignments to all front and backlist titles.

Position may be located at our Glenview, IL, or Boston, MA office site.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • BA or BS; Publishing Technology is a plus

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in educational publishing

  • Knowledge of K-12 basic science concepts and curricula

  • Must have applied knowledge of school publishing, including an understanding of editorial, production, marketing, sales roles and relationships

  • Strong knowledge of relationship between state standards and content development for various print and technology products

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including but not limited to initiating, planning, monitoring, controlling projects involving multiple stakeholders

  • Exceptional ability to communicate (verbal, written, digital) effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of professionals

  • Excellent working knowledge of database and other technology programs to effectively achieve goals

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead across organizational boundaries and to inspire others to find creative solutions to challenging situations or problems

  • Establish and negotiate standard rates for freelance work and monitor costs

  • Proficient to expert use of Microsoft Office; Filemaker Pro preferred

Additional Plus:

  • Experience with understanding how to integrate curriculum alignment into product planning processes and production

  • Ability to work with vendors including monitoring performance

  • Teaching experience
