Operational Risk/Business Process Analyst III- Default Tester
Responsible for conducting periodic reviews and testing of the Servicing Portfolio to determine compliance with Investor, Agency, Regulatory and Statutory requirements.
Participate in the development and implementation of various operational risk / compliance related initiatives.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Participate in the development and implementation of operational risk and compliance related initiatives throughout the Servicing Business Units.
Provide centralized compliance expertise to the business unit in order for management to assess the operational and data processing implication of business decisions that involve Investor, Agency or compliance risk.
Analyze various Investor and Agency requirements to determine the relevance to business lines.
Provide education within the business to ensure that adequate policies and procedures exist.
Assist with and produce monthly Management reporting.
Provide guidance and assistance to lower level employees.
Perform other related assignments as requested by management.
Collaborate with internal business partners to implement corrective actions.
Enhance Loss Mitigation testing
Design and implement custom test scripts for high risk requirements and/or emerging risks.
Identify emerging risks and promptly escalate to Management per M&T’s Operational Risk Management Policy.
Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations.
Keep abreast of business and market trends which may affect business units.
The position requires extensive contact with business unit personnel in a testing, training and remediation capacity to include working with non-management, middle management, business units/partners.
The responsibilities of the position are critical to the business’s ability to identify issues with meeting regulatory Statuary, Investor and Agency requirements and reduce the risk of fines/penalties resulting from non-compliance that would impact profitability.
Minimum Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of a degree a combined 11 years of experience with 5 years in compliance administration / analysis and 2 years prior banking
Sound analytical abilities and problem solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Thorough technical compliance knowledge and project management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ideal Qualifications Preferred Passport system experience
Knowledge of applicable Industry tools (ALLRegs, FHA Connection, Bankers Online)
Two years’ departmental experience preferred.
Solid working knowledge of software and applications utilized by the Department.
Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
General understanding of Bank systems and processes.
