We are currently seeking an experienced:
UNIT DIRECTOR (RN) CHARLOTTE, NC Full-Time (10am-7pm & EOW)
Assures the best patient care possible by supervising and directing nursing personnel for the unit and by assuming the responsibilities of Nursing Services for the unit.
Supervises and directs nursing services for the unit.
Assigns duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and supervises and evaluates work performance.
Prepares a work schedule for all nursing personnel.
Supervises the accuracy and maintenance of all nursing records and medical treatments.
Insures availability of supplies and equipment.
Assesses needs for additional equipment or repair and maintenance of current equipment.
Assists with records, orders, and assessment of new admissions to unit.
Works directly with other departments to implement needs for the unit and needs of patients on the unit.
Directs and supervises patient emergencies arising while on duty.
Performs CPR if needed.
Assists with emergencies on other units if needed.
Other general duties include: rounds with doctors; checking M.D. orders; including the update of orders; verification of completeness to nursing summaries timely; and verification that all nursing records are complete and timely.
Restorative and wound care.
Takes care of all aspects of labs.
Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. Must have a current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year.
Willing to be “on call” per rotation basis for Facility.
Provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctor’s orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
CPR certified yearly.
Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
Ability to supervise unit staff assuring that work assignments are completed appropriately and timely.
