FUNCTION & SCOPE:

Reporting to the Application Development Manager, the entry level position of Programmer/Analyst will provide development support as it relates to the Research Foundation's Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) system. The Oracle EBS suite, as utilized by the RF, is multi modular encompassing a wide array of modules in order to support core business functions. Some of these include the modules of Grants, Financials, and Human Capital Management. The selected candidate will possess critical thinking skills to assess situations and information in an effective manner when problem solving. It is important that the Programmer/Analyst selected be adaptable and capable of working within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to be successful in this role. Additional attributes of a successful candidate are someone who is a highly motivated self-starter, and possesses a drive for continuous learning and growth in improving the support of innovative Oracle technologies in a cloud environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with business liaisons to elicit and document user requirements for requested changes to Oracle EBS.

  • Under the guidance of the Development Manager, review these requirements to determine a proper approach to customizations, integrations, and system processing updates, and report changes to meet end user requirements.

  • With the identified approach, perform developer tasks related to solution design, development, configuration, unit testing, system testing, and documentation as part of the software development life cycle.

  • Development activities may include adjustments to forms, extensions, PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, OAF personalization, workflows, and functions. As well as customizing reports and templates using BI Publisher and XML Publisher.

  • Communicate technical design deviations with justification, and work estimates based on level of effort to team leads, including business operational and functional analysts.

  • Provide production support for incoming service requests as needed to determine if the request requires a developed solution or can leverage existing processes.

  • Maintain technical documentation in pursuit of the Research Foundation's SDLC, documentation and IT change control standards.

  • Collaborate with senior staff as development work progresses to ensure proper handling of source code, ensuring code quality through successful unit testing and peer code review.

  • Ensure comprehensive, timely, and quality delivery of all requests.

  • Willingness to learn about the Oracle EBS Modules utilized.

  • Able to multitask and prioritize project tasks, against operational support issues simultaneously.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • 1-2 years experience as a programmer or intern using relational database and/or web technologies, preferably Oracle.

  • Knowledge and experience in requirement gathering and use case analysis.

  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate the solution to non-technical terminology to various audiences.

  • Ability to interact and work with staff at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone, video, and in person.

  • Commitment to providing superior customer service at all times.

  • A willingness to take initiative and continuously learn about new features and technologies in an ever-changing industry.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Thorough knowledge of Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.).

    Job Requirements:

Preferred Requirements/Skills

  • One or more years of experience and certifications in Oracle E-Business Suite (Financials and/or Human Capital Management) and/or Oracle PL/SQL.

  • Familiarity with any of the below areas:

  • OS Scripting

  • Oracle Forms

  • Oracle Reports and XML Publisher

  • OAF

  • Oracle Workflow

  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

  • WebLogic

  • Apex

  • CSS/HTML/XML

  • Java, Java script

  • Source Code Repositories like GIT, SVN or Source Anywhere

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Certification, training, or proven knowledge in relational database and development tools.

Compensation for this position: The compensation for this role is between $61,113 to $74,008. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications.
