Canadian Tire Senior Financial Analyst, Investment Decisions in Toronto, Ontario
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Manager, Investment Decisions, the Senior Financial Analyst role supports driving profitability and prudent financial decisions for the Canadian Tire Retail (CTR) segment. Support the CTR business by identifying performance drivers and communicating recommendations to drive decision-making through financial analysis
Develop complex financial models to evaluate new projects and investments, analyze profitability and provide financial recommendations
Critically evaluate business financial assumptions and project strategy
Anticipate and support evolving financial performance reporting needs
Collaborate with business and other finance teams to gather knowledge and critical financial requirements
Participate as a subject matter expert in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required
Communicate your findings to various levels of management including senior leadership
Coach and mentor junior staff
What you bring
University Degree in Finance, Analytics, Accounting, or business-related discipline
3+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, strategy, consulting, or other related fields in a retail environment
CPA, CFA or MMA designation are considered an asset but not required
Strong proficiency in Excel financial modeling and working knowledge in PowerPoint, PowerPivot or Power BI
Strong proficiency in working with large datasets (SQL) and working knowledge in Knime or Python are considered an asset
Outcome-focused, attentive to detail and a self-starter to deliver quality results
Experience collaborating cross functionally to gather information and business knowledge
Ability to present to key stakeholders and senior leadership to move initiatives forward
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
Critical thinker and problem solver to be able to connect the dots and see the ‘big picture’
Carry an efficiency-first mindset to be able to drive quick decision making
Ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in a rapidly evolving retail environment
