CVS Health Senior Manager - UW Tech Lead - Dental & Vision in Hartford, Connecticut

Position Summary Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment for new and/or renewal of employer group contracts and accountings. Assigned cases/book of business with increasing levels of complexity and will include multiple product types, funding arrangements and/or rating methodologies. Position will be on the Dental/Vision Renewal Underwriting team

  • Prepares and delivers existing business renewals for the most complex customers on the team.

  • Manages projects, programs, or processes for the department.

  • Develops actionable insights derived from project management tools, data analysis, and stakeholder feedback to drive improvement for the Underwriting Tech Lead area.

  • Collaborates with field sales and account management, reviewing and ensuring timely team completion of complex, high profile underwriting cases, presenting deliverable results to employers, brokers, and consultants.

  • Facilitates advanced functionalities of underwriting tools, systems, and reference materials to produce accurate, detailed quotes to advance policy renewals and customer knowledge and loyalty.

  • Consults the team on training gaps opportunities, recommending appropriate courses of action including training development and delivery, also mentoring less experienced underwriters to develop subject matter-related technical skills.

  • Coaches and trains junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years' experience in underwriting/accounting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements.

  • Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills

  • Must have UW healthcare experience

  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience working with standard Microsoft Office suite with extensive

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$79,200.00 - $174,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
