Position SummaryCVS is seeking a Senior Manager to lead and support key operational projects across the network of CVS Distribution. This role is responsible for being a key member of the team to lead and drive projects and culture to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity of the operations. This role will manage the Operational Excellence team members at the site (6 direct + 6 below).

The role will be responsible for the continuous improvement and support improvement of the key KPIs at the following facilities: Patterson-CA, LaHabra-CA, Conroe-TX, Knoxville-TN, North Augusta-SC, Indianapolis-IN) via a lean foundation, process engineering, and WMS optimization. Some specific responsibilities will be driving read-across of best practices among sites, supporting development of new processes for all sites, and leadings kaizens to improve process and equipment, and optimizing our WMS settings. Role will be expected to travel regionally 40%-50% of which 80% will be self-managed timing/location. Ideal candidate resides near one of the DC locations but not required.

  • Safety – Responsible for identifying and improving safety at the site through use of technology, layout, improved ergonomics, and process. Support team on tools to get to root cause and corrective actions.

  • Quality - Responsible for helping to deliver world class quality by supporting sites with problem solving techniques to get to root cause and problems are made visible to solve.

  • Delivery – This role will be responsible for delivering capacity improvements to the operations by identifying and executing kaizens to remove bottlenecks, increase storage density, and ultimately meet customer demand

  • Value Stream Owner – own and collaborate on the roadmap and execution of the fulfillment processes across the DC ops teams, planning teams, engineering teams, infrastructure teams, and automation teams. Will be the main representative of DC / engineering for strategy and changes to the operations in terms of capacity and productivity.

  • Mentorship/Management – This role will be responsible for growing and shaping not only its direct reports in lean manufacturing techniques but also assisting to further enhance the continuous improvement and lean culture across the organization. Individual will need to demonstrate strong leadership and development capabilities.

  • WMS Optimization – This role will be responsible for supporting and identifying the optimization of our WMS system as it relates to streamlining setups to reduce waste for inbound, replenishment, picking, and shipping.

  • Data Engineering - Contribute or lead changes and projects related to data engineering adding data collection where not present. Translate data to information to aid in decision making and problem solving including but not limited to improved traceability, performance dashboards, performance reports, or andon/escalation systems at the site. Will strongly use data to support and drive process and performance management decision with the operations team. Lead team responsible for maintaining standards to drive informed decision making.

  • Project & Change Management – The individual will be responsible for planning and executing multiple projects at the same time and utilize good project management skills by managing risk, understanding critical path and dependencies to meet project goals on time. This individual and kaizen partners must have robust follow through on changes to ensure success. Be able to see opportunities for improvement, put together a financial business case and project plan to initiate the change.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment

  • Experience managing projects and very experienced in change management

  • Create project budgets and financial justifications related to capital expenditure equipment/projects

  • WMS, ERP, MES, or LMS systems and database structure experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment

  • 2+ years running operations (plant manager, senior operations manager, etc)

  • 4+ years working directly with lean, process improvement, continuous improvement, or similar

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Higher

  • Standards based time and motion study systems such as MOST and MTM

  • Experience working with a larger corporation and counterparts in other remote locations

  • Demonstrated success and experience in Lean Manufacturing.

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, self-motivated, customer oriented, multi-tasking, and successful at managing multiple priorities and tasks

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering/science field

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $174,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
